Counselling and psychotherapy

Healing is most effective when you feel safe, seen, and in control of your pace. My work is grounded in trauma-informed care and integrates state-of-the-art, evidence-based interventions with compassion and cultural humility. I collaborate with you to set clear goals, measure progress, and adjust the plan as your needs evolve.

Core Principles of CareSafety & Trust: We establish clear boundaries, transparent treatment planning, and predictable sessions so you can move at a pace that feels right.

Choice & Collaboration: You decide what we focus on; I bring options and explain the “why” behind each approach.Empowerment & Strengths: We build skills that transfer to daily life—so gains last beyond therapy.

Cultural Humility & Inclusivity: Affirming care for all identities, bodies, and relationship structures.

Evidence-Based Interventions I Use

Cognitive Behavioral Therapies (CBT & TF-CBT): Restructure unhelpful thoughts, reduce avoidance, and build coping skills—especially effective for anxiety, depression, and trauma-related symptoms as well as EMDR and target assessments to help gear focus on current issues rooted in past traumas.

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT): Clarify values, build psychological flexibility, and cultivate mindful, strengths-based action.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Skills: Practical tools for emotion regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness.

Somatic & Nervous-System Regulation Tools: Breathwork, grounding, vagal-toning exercises, and gentle movement to calm the body and widen your window of tolerance.

The Tapping Solution (EFT/Tapping): A structured, evidence-informed technique combining cognitive reframing with acupressure points to reduce physiological arousal and support trauma processing. I use tapping as an adjunct to CBT/ACT/CPT to help down-regulate the stress response between and during sessions.Mindfulness-Based Interventions: Attention training to reduce reactivity and increase present-moment awareness and self-compassion.

Safety planning, sleep and nervous-system regulation, skills for triggers.Processing: Targeted cognitive and somatic interventions (e.g., CPT, TF-CBT, tapping) at your pace.Integration: Reconnecting with values, relationships, sexuality, and meaning—so life expands, not just symptoms shrink.Common concerns include PTSD/trauma, anxiety, mood disorders, and grief.

When helpful, I coordinate care with physicians, pelvic floor PTs, and other providers.Sex-Specific & Sexual Health TreatmentI provide shame-free, inclusive sexual health therapy for individuals and couples across the lifespan.Frameworks & ModalitiesCBT for Sexual Concerns: Address performance anxiety, pain-related fear cycles, and unhelpful beliefs.Mindfulness-Based Sex Therapy: Increase interoceptive awareness, pleasure focus, and nonjudgmental attention.Sensate Focus (Masters & Johnson): Graduated, at-home exercises to reduce anxiety and rebuild connection and pleasure.PLISSIT-Informed Care: From permission-giving and education to targeted, skills-based interventions.Dual Control Model Education: Understand your unique “accelerators” and “brakes” to optimize desire and arousal.Trauma-Responsive Sexual Healing: Gentle pacing, consent-forward practice, and body-based regulation (including tapping) to rebuild safety with touch and intimacy.Integrated Care & Referrals: Coordination with medical providers (e.g., hormonal, pain, or pelvic floor concerns) when needed. What Working Together Looks LikeGoal-Oriented & Measurable: We define outcomes, track symptom change, and celebrate wins.Structured + Flexible: Sessions blend protocol-driven methods (like CPT or TF-CBT) with individualized tools (somatic skills, tapping, mindfulness).Homework That Helps: Brief, doable practices between sessions to accelerate progress.Ethical, Transparent, and Confidential: Clear-informed consent, ongoing feedback, and adjustments based on what’s working for you.If you’re looking for trauma-informed and sex-specific care that is both compassionate and evidence-based—with practical tools you can use right away—I’d be honored to support you.

My Approach

I believe healing begins in a safe, supportive relationship where you feel understood and in control of your own pace. My work is grounded in a humanistic and trauma-informed approach, meaning I see you as a whole person—not just a diagnosis—and we work together to find what feels most helpful for your growth.

I draw from a wide range of evidence-based treatments, including CBT, Trauma-Focused CBT, ACT, DBT, EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy), the Tapping Solution (EFT tapping) and esp EMDR. My speciality is trauma, and I am considered currently as of October 2025, a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional 2, and will be officially considered an EMDR therapist by December 2025. This collective of methods allows me to tailor therapy to your unique needs, whether that means calming the nervous system, reshaping unhelpful patterns, or building practical skills for daily life.

In Summary, I specialize in trauma, trauma recovery, and sex-specific therapy, supporting individuals and couples and families to reclaim safety, intimacy (for couples and individuals), and connection. Whether you’re healing from past trauma, working through relationship challenges, or exploring sexual wellbeing, I offer a compassionate, research-backed/evidenced based approach toward change and self-actualization.
